PRAYER TO GOD TO BE FRUITFUL (COL 1: 9-14)
PRAYER TO GOD TO BE FRUITFUL (COL 1: 9-14):
Apostle Paul writes that because
of the love of Colossians in Spirit, since the day they heard about that they
have not stopped praying for them and asking that they may be filled with the
full knowledge of God’s will with respect to all spiritual wisdom and
understanding, so that they might live in a manner worthy of the Lord and be
fully pleasing to him as they bear fruit while doing all kinds of good things
and growing in the full knowledge of God. Apostle Paul and many other apostles
have appreciated and acknowledged the love of the believers that is explicit
because of the transformation after receiving Jesus. Apostle Paul encourages
and seeks God for those who abide in the lord by having love in Spirit so that
the believers would follow the commandments of God to the fullest and know the
things that are pleasing and perfect according to God’s purpose and plan. God’s
purpose and plan could be known only through the right belief in the right God
through which the wisdom and discretion of God could be gained. The Apostle
Paul not only prays for the well-being of believers and thank God because of
their characteristics but also prays that they may be beneficial to others as
useful vessels of God through their life, doing good for the welfare of the
people around them as they continuously know and grow in God in their life day
by day.
Apostle Paul also writes that they
are being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that
they might patiently endure everything with joy and might thank the Father, who
has enabled them to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light. Apostle Paul
completely depends on God for the believers to gain their strength in the
Lord and sustain in Godly principles so that they would be able to abide in God. They also shall find real and long-lasting joy, thanking God by knowing
God’s work in their life. God revealed Himself to those who seek Him
and integrates people with one another in Him as everyone has the common
identity as children of God when they accept Him.
Apostle Paul further writes to
Colossians that God had rescued them from the power of darkness and had brought
them into the kingdom of the Son whom He loves, through whom He had redemption,
the forgiveness of sins. The believers are saved from the glitches of sins and
the things that make a person gets addicted or afflicted, and they are brought
into the Kingdom of God which is led by the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The
unity of the Father and Son is great that the love of God is with the Son,
through whom the restoration of the whole mankind is given and the freeness
from sins is made.
