FUFLLNESS OF DEITY IN CHRIST (COL 2: 6-10)
FULLNESS OF DEITY IN CHRIST (COL 2: 6-10):
Apostle Paul continues to convey that just as they have received the Messiah Jesus the Lord, they shall continue
to live dependent on Him. When a person accepts and starts to follow the
commandments of God, the person surely gets free from guilt and sin. Also, a person who had genuinely accepted God and His commandments would
commit the self to follow God with a free heart though it may be tough and
stumbling at times. Thereby each one shall be dependent on Lord Jesus for their
own good by realizing that He had come into the world for the redemption of
sins and reconciliation with God.
Apostle Paul then says that for
they had been rooted in Him and are being built up and strengthened in the faith, just as they were
taught, they shall continue to be thankful. The believers who had accepted
Christ and followed His commandments are strong with the foundation in Him and
they continue to grow in His likeness and they become strong in their belief as
they receive the teachings of the Word of God. Those believers will always get
attached to God and be faithful to Him by acknowledging Him in all walks
of life.
Apostle Paul then writes that they
shall see to it that no one enslaves through Philosophy and empty deceit
according to the human tradition, according to the principles of the world, and
not according to the Messiah, because all the essence of deity inhabits Him in
bodily form. And they had been filled by Him, who is the head of every ruler
and authority. As knowledge increases the ability to synthesize by correlating
different things without facts also increases, thereby a lot of thoughts from
many people arise every day and most of those thoughts are without any base
or value. Because the thoughts of human beings without God are according to the wisdom
without Christ in whom all things exist by the essence of God in human form,
that is practically relevant. The believers receive the Holy Spirit once they accept Christ and He fills them day by day when they allow to work
God in them by following the Godly values. All things are created for Christ,
in Christ, and through Christ, thereby even every leader who had known or not known Christ and who had accepted or not accepted God is from God.
Stimulations for Self-reflection:
1.
What should a
believer do as one who accepted Messiah? Why?
2.
How one can
be rooted in Christ?
3.
How one can
be built up and strengthened in faith?
4.
How we can
continue to be thankful?
5.
To which
believers should not be enslaved? Why?
6. What are some
philosophies and vain deceits according to the human tradition and not
according to Christ?
7.
How does the
essence of the deity inhabit Christ in bodily form?
8.
How we are
filled by Christ?
9.
How Christ is
the head of every ruler and authority?
10. How we can always rely on God and trust God?
